What is Wealth Management?

Wealth management is the process of putting together a plan that supports you in achieving your life goals. It can be as simple as helping you manage some money you want to invest, through to a full financial review to understand how your money can support your ambitions in life.

How do I choose the right Portfolio?

To choose the right investment portfolio, you can get in touch with us directly by booking a free 1-2-1 meeting with one of our experienced Financial Advisers. We can then get to know you, discuss your attitude to risk, answer your questions and go from there.

What is a Life Plan?

Life Plan is designed to give you a clear picture of your financial future. Each plan is bespoke and helps you & your financial adviser make informed decisions. For example, a plan might include targets to improve wellbeing, including family time, holidays, business, or retirement.

What is a Financial Adviser?

A Financial Adviser is a professional who provides financial expertise for clients’ decisions around money matters, personal finances, and investments. Advisers provide a full range of services from portfolio management to insurance products.

What is Personal Financial Planning?

Personal financial planning covers a wide range of services to help people meet their financial goals. This can include creating personal budgets, allocating money towards savings as well as devising a plan for retirement. Our Financial Advisers can help establish a suitable financial plan for you.

Are my investments protected?

Yes. Most investments are protected by the Financial Service Protection Scheme (FSCS).

The FSCS acts as a safety net for clients of financial services providers. For more information see the FSCS website.

What is a Personal Pension?

A Personal Pension is a long-term, tax-efficient savings method that helps you set money aside for later life and retirement. The money you invest can be used as an income when you retire. When you pay into a pension, your contribution is boosted by tax-relief.

Do you charge for an initial meeting?

No. We believe you should be able to meet an adviser to ensure you’re confident in and comfortable with them before making any commitment. It also gives you the opportunity to ask questions relating to products and services without obligation.

Why would I need wealth management?

Some clients choose to do so because they need help planning for financial goals or life events. Others don’t have the time or the desire to manage their investment portfolios or simply value the input of a financial professional, who can act as a sounding board and offer the best solutions.

Is my capital guaranteed?

No. All investments carry the risk that they will not only rise but fall in value. Our investment process and portfolios are designed for longer term investment (generally 5 years or more). Our aim is to deliver strong performance, but there may be times when investments fall.

What is a SIPP?

A self-invested personal pension (SIPP) is a pension ‘wrapper’ that allows you to save, invest and build up a pot of money for when you retire. It is a type of personal pension. The main difference is that with a SIPP, you have more flexibility with the investments you can choose.

Can you meet me at my home or office?

Our Financial Advisers will always strive to meet you face to face, often coming out to your home, workplace, or they will invite you to one of our offices for a meeting. Remote meetings are also available whether from choice or necessity over Teams and Zoom.

Do I need a strategy to help manage wealth?

If you’re searching for someone who can offer a holistic approach designed around your financial situation, working with an experienced Financial Adviser to develop a strategy to manage your wealth and create a bespoke Life Plan to keep you on track for hitting your goals may make sense for you.

What is tax-efficient investing?

Tax-efficient investing refers to the practice of taking the impact of taxes into consideration when making investment decisions. For instance, ensuring a portfolio is held within a tax efficient wrapper or considering the tax status of an account before withdrawing money from it.

What is a Wrapper?

A Wrapper is a method of structuring investment portfolios in the most tax efficient way. Commonly used wrappers in an advice process are Individual Savings Accounts (ISA) and Pension Plans although there are others that can be used based on your circumstances and tax position.
