Supporting the local community is something that GWM is very passionate about. For years, the GWM team have been donating to local and national charity including DENS and MIND. To do more for the local Hertfordshire community, the team enjoy getting involved with running and donating to charity events.
Redbourn Fun Run
Back in 2021 GWM supported the Virtual Redbourn Fun Run by funding towards the event and providing runners with gift bags and medals at the finish line. In May 2022, GWM will be supporting the Redbourn Fun Run event for a second time. The GWM team are looking forward to supporting and congratulating each runner at the finish line.
If you would like to take part in either the 1k, 3k or 5k at the Redbourn Fun Run, please click here to sign up. All proceeds from the event will go to The Amy Robinson Charitable Foundation and Redbourn Primary School. Runners will be presented with a bespoke Redbourn Fun Run medal, and there will be many spot prizes & trophies for the fastest few in each race.
London to Kathmandu Challenge
Throughout 2021, the GWM team dominated their charity long distance challenge. As a quick recap of the challenge, the idea was to form a team to walk, run or cycle a distance of 14,000km (8,699 miles) before the end of 2021, and to get each member of the team to track their distance on a fitness app to help track progress. The distance is the equivalent of trekking from London to Kathmandu and back!
On Tuesday 6th July, challenge leader, Matt Tolliday, reported that the team had so far achieved a distance of 6,191km which was an incredible effort! The distance achieved was roughly the equivalent of trekking from London to Karachi, Pakistan.
On Tuesday 12th October, the team continued to dominate, with an astounding new total of 12,514km covered. For context, 12,514 kms is roughly the equivalent of trekking from London to the Falkland Islands.
Fast forward to Tuesday 9th November and the team completed the challenge, collectively covering a further 1,573 kms. Which meant we had exceeded the collective target of 14,000 kms as we had accrued 14,086 kms. 1,573 kms is roughly the equivalent of London to Istanbul. 14,086 kms is of course the equivalent of London to Kathmandu and back….plus a little bit more!
Grosvenor supported the charity, MIND, as mental health issues have been exacerbated throughout the Covid 19 lockdown for many people. MIND is a mental health charity that believes no one should ever have to face a mental health problem alone. The charity provides advice and support to empower anyone experiencing a mental health problem.
Grosvenor Wealth Management is always looking for new, fun and imaginative ways to support local and national charity organisations. Keep an eye out for our next charity challenge announcement in the not to distant future!
